In 1996 Stephen Weldon, Armantini's current M.D, formed a company
called Weldon's Agricultural Products with a loan from the Prince's Trust to process chicken manure into organic fertiliser.
Stephen was one of the youngest people to get a loan from the Prince's Trust. This business was sold in 1999 and the company
moved into the field of small tonnage processing when Armantini Processing was formed
Armantini Processing was formed
in 2000 to process small tonnages of products, mainly minerals, for customers either marketing new products with unknown sales
volumes or looking for production on a small scale.
This service was born out of the need to process small tonnages
for a marketing trial of an industrial filler. Several large toll processors were asked for quotations, but as they required
a processing run of fifty tonnes it was not viable to continue with the product trial and the filler was never produced.
Stephen Weldon saw a gap in the market and installed a small dryer, screen and bagging station and started to market this
new idea. The responce from both small mineral traders and large blue chip companies was amazing.
Today Armantini
Processing has a capacity of 6,000 tonnes per year on it's smallest site in Suffolk and a world-wide customer base.
Armantini
Group is a holding company for Armantini Processing and is involved in forming new ventures and one off projects. Armantini
Group has recently completed a on site screening project for a large blue chip company.
The Armantini Group is always
interested in looking into new ventures, ideas and creating new alliances with industry
